In late 2003, the City of Rochester invited interested citizens to
assist in planning the
Rochester Public Market’s 100th anniversary in
2005.
As a result, this initial core group of advocates formed the Friends of the Public Market
to provide an avenue to not only interpret the markets’ rich history and uniqueness,
but to bring historical and educational value to the wider community.
Friends of Public Market is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
